General Information about ATIR Workshops

What is included?

A workshop day includes:

  • Morning tea, coffee, and pastries
  • All art media
  • Handouts
  • Gourmet luncheon (vegetarian and non)
  • Afternoon beverages and snacks

Where can I stay near the ATIR?

The nearest town is Ukiah, California, about a 15 minute drive from the ATIR. Accommodations can be found at the Economy Inn for below $35 per night, to the expensive spa at Vichy Springs resort or Orrs Spring Resort, to low budget secure overnight camping at Lake Mendocino, just a few miles from the ATIR. Our Mendocino County page has links to accommodations as well as other local resources.

Driving Directions from the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, or Oregon?

For those coming from SFO or the Bay Area, take 101 North over the Golden Gate Bridge and stay on 101 North for about 130 miles to the West Road/Redwood Valley Exit. As you exit the ramp, make a right at the stop sign onto West Road. Go to the next stop sign and make a right on School Way. Take School Way until it ends at the Firehouse, and make a left onto East Road. Go 1.4 miles until you pass Road I and you will see the large Redwood building with the green roof on the right, the ATIR.

From Sacramento International Airport, exit the airport and take I-5 North to Williams and take the HWY 20 exit and make a left. Head west for the 1.5 hours and you will pass Clear Lake, Blue Lakes, and Lake Mendocino and exit at the Redwood Valley exit just before you reach Hyw 101. Take the exit road to the stop sign and go right on East Road. Go to the next stop sign at School Way, and go straight 1.4 miles until you pass Road I and you will see the large Redwood building with the green roof on the right, the ATIR.

From Oregon and Northern California, take 101 South to the West Road/redwood Valley Exit. Make a left onto West Road. Go to the next stop sign and make a right on School Way. Take School Way until it ends at the Firehouse, and make a left onto East Road. Go 1.4 miles until you pass Road I and you will see the large Redwood building with the green roof on the right, the ATIR.

Where can I park?

Free all day parking is available in the lot just to the north of the building.
